Aquina Health is a healthcare financial technology company providing liquidity, payment acceleration and revenue solutions for healthcare organizations or clients.
I worked as the sole Senior UI/UX Designer and Graphic Designer, contributing to the shaping of the public-facing product experience across Aquina Health and its Curae Platform, alongside creating marketing and sales assets and resources.
Healthcare finance products have some complex challenges:
Complex financial concepts: Healthcare payments and working capital which are difficult to understand.
Product ecosystem clarity: Both portals need to be unified not fragmented.
High trust requirements: Users must feel confident engaging with the portal in order to make use of their healthcare operations.
The main goal was to make healthcare finance understandable and approachable.
As the senior designer, I contributed across Aquina Health and Curae Health by owning and supporting:
UX strategy and design
Information architecture
UI Design for responsive web experiences
Graphic components
Marketing and Sales resources
Collaboration with product, engineering and business stakeholders
Throughout both products, I prioritized design decisisons around the following principles:
Trust though consistency: Consistent layouts, interactions and visual language reinforce credibility
Scalability: Design patterns supported future product expansion
User-centered communication: What users needed to understand and do next is the priority
1. Explaining Complex Healthcare Finance
Problem: Users struggled to understand how Aquina solutions worked.
Solution: I Designed experiences that:
Clearly represented the valuable propositions
Prioritized user progressive disclosure
Arranged the content around real use cases
2. Parent-Product Ecosystem Clarity
Problem: Both companies needed to feel connected while serving different levels of user journey.
Solution: UX decisions were focused on:
Clearly defining Aquina Health as the parent platform
Positioning Curae as the core product
Using shared layouts and components
3. Designing for Trust in Healthcare Fintech
Problem: Financial decisions in healthcare require confidence and transparency
Solution: I designed:
Clean, professional visual hierarchy
Clear language
Intuitive interactions and reduced uncertainty
While metrics and results are confidential, the goal outcome was devivered:

Designing across a parent-child ecosystem reinforced the importance of clarity, consistency and trust. This work strengthened my ability to translate complex concepts into understandable experiences while balancing business and user needs.
